This has led me to speculate that Sorkin were a/the distributor of bigsby on the East coast but I don’t have any evidence for this. Amazing vintage circa 1959 Premier by Multivox Scroll guitar. While everyone knows how Gibson answered Fender, they weren’t the only notable East Coast brand at the time. ![]() In the mids 50s most guitars were still a floating and tailpiece setup so wouldn’t have needed a new bridge to fit a bigsby. Heres a Premier Scroll guitar manufactured by the Multivox Corporation of America. It’s an odd thing because the shape of it is designed to cover the stud holes of a wrap around bridge which as far as im aware was only a feature of Gibson at the time. Multivox Premier was a guitar and amplifier brand of New York-based. Great thanks! Is there anyone else they were selling parts to for anything? I can only think of Harmony with the P-13s and national with semi finished guitars (but that’s a bit more understandable with them sharing a parent company).Ĭould it just be as simple as no one else asked and Premier were small enough that it didn’t really matter? I don’t think Sorkin distributed Gibson but there must’ve been some relationship there.ĭoes anyone know why the bow tie bridge is called a Sorkin bridge? That seems to be a pretty common name for them but I haven’t seen it mentioned in any period literature. We HYPER GUITARS is SPECIAL SHOP which I select it, and treat Rino VINTAGE GUITAR and AMP immediately.
